McDowell Auction Service is a family owned and operated business headquartered in Mulberry Grove, IL with over 40 years auction experience in 19 states and Canada.

Consignment auctions are conducted on location at Mulberry Grove (52 miles east of St. Louis on I-70) which include tractors, farm machinery, livestock equipment, cars, trucks, trailers, tools and misc.  Consignment auctions are held up to 6 times a year, drawing 250 - 300 consignors, and 750 - 1000 registered buyers from the United States and Canada.  McDowell Auction Service markets all types of real estate and personal property as well as offering personal property appraisals.

About Our Auctioneers:

Alva R. McDowell started in the auction profession in 1970 and is a past president and life member of the Illinois State Auctioneers Association, past Chairman of the Agri-Business Council for the N.A.A. and served 8 years on the Auction Advisory Board for the State of Illinois, as well as serving 8 years on the Illinois Beef Board.

Andrew McDowell graduated from Missouri Auction School in August of 1999 while still in high school. He is the youngest ever to win the title of Illinois Champion Bid Caller at the State Fair and was Reserve International Livestock Auctioneer in 2010 that is held in Calgary, Alberta, Canada as part of the Calgary Stampede.He has qualified for 10 world livestock auctioneer contests, won the Rookie of the Year award in 2005 and placed 4th at the International Livestock Auctioneers contest held in Calgary, Alberta in 2008. He was also runner up at the 2006 contest held in Madras, OR and was runner up in 2011 at the Dickinson, N.D. quarterfinals and will compete at the Trulock Livestock Auction Yards, Inc., Trulock, Ca. on June 16, 2012 for the World Champion title as part of the 2012 Livestock Marketing Industry Convention.
